Hunter woke me up at 5:30 in the morning, I heard water running, and headed down to the basement. As I stumbled through the dark I stepped down into 1 foot of icy cold water covering the entire basement. Our hot water heater had sprung a leak, and was pumping water into our basement, and nothing was being drained because our sump pump had been sealed for radon testing. Hunter and Brooklyn both wanted to get on their swim suits and go swimming, but as soon as Hunter fell in and started screaming at the icy cold water they changed their minds.
The worst part was 6 scrapbooks of my life from birth to 25 years old, had gotten soaked. And the play programs of plays I've been in. I'm so glad the insurance company is trying to get them restored. Hopefully!
We had to drag out all of our stuff to dry.
They have torn out all the drywall and insulation a foot from the floor. And now we are just waiting for them to fix it all back up again.
I just hope the insurance company comes through and we will be ale to cover all the costs.

i'm so sorry guys. That really stinks. or soaks. or whatever the right words are. I guess that's homeownership for ya. And Brad, this might be another needle in Celeste's cap for "reasons to move to California" ;)
You gave me a great laugh with the water play. I hope everything returns to normal soon though. :(

sorry i wasn't there to help
Swimming pools are great, but it's not deep enough for a diving board.
What a huge chunk taken out of your life. I hope you can restore the books.
